Custom clothing is so much better than ready-made clothing in many ways.  The fit will be much better, the workmanship is better, the value that much better. But, sometimes, with the wrong tailor, custom clothing can be worse than ready-made clothing.
 
How?  When the tailor has no sense of style.  He may be a good craftsman.  He may work his tail off.  But, it is very rare for a skilled mechanic to be a skilled designer.  So everything he makes looks about the same.  Or it’s generic in nature. Or he can’t advise you on how to put an entire look together.
 
Do not be fooled into thinking that one individual is master of the tailoring universe. Like most professions, a team of experts is needed to give you the best result.  At Saint Laurie, we have expert fitters, expert cutters, experts in construction and experts at alterations.  And, we are very proud of our expert designer—Jacob Kozinn, the fourth generation of the family.
 
Immersed in the business at an early age, Jacob combines the sensibilities of a street smart New Yorker and an artist who refuses to compromise his craft.
 
Jake’s collections for men and women represent different, but coherent points of view.  At Saint Laurie, we have samples on display of each style which you can try on and check out in the mirror.  And, if you’re not sure which look is right for you, don’t worry, we’ll explain the differences and make recommendations after we’ve gotten to know you a little better.
 
And, remember all the collections shown are made by hand, fitted to you, to the same exacting standards, so whatever we make for you, it will ooze quality and good taste.
